This Aries Solar Eclipse brings powerful healing potential into our collective consciousness. The Sun and Moon at 19° Aries also conjoin Chiron, offering our subconscious deeper access to what most needs healing within and throughout. With so much to be enraged about in our current global landscape, how can we harness our fire for collective care and liberation, rather than letting it burn us out? Aries is the zodiac sign which initiates, and this solar eclipse ignites a new cycle of the revolution. While eclipses are not well suited for manifestation work, this eclipse has me considering how we as a collective can utilize the Aries power of action to shift gears into a very different dynamic... perhaps rather than harnessing this power, it will be pushing us in a very specific direction.

After six months of witnessing genocide unfold in Palestine, how are we really doing? Our hearts are heavy, weary, numb, forlorn – as we each navigate a complex set of personal, cultural, political and social challenges. This eclipse moment is meeting us at a particularly depleted moment, when we metaphorically and literally feel as though we are being reduced to ashes. How can we reconstitute and reinvigorate our spirits at a time of such cosmic revelation? If we accept the premise that magic is the ability to change consciousness at will (per Dion Fortune’s definition) then what do we need to change within our own consciousness, and within the consciousness of the collective, for the magic of liberation to unfold? I believe that the Aries Solar eclipse will offer us a window of insight into this all important process of renewal. 

Eclipses are wily creatures because they reveal hidden agendas, secrets, or surprises. We cannot be fully prepared for whatever is being illuminated through this Solar eclipse, however, we can trust that whatever does transpire is in the service of our evolution. Chiron’s healing wisdom teaches us the importance of honoring our scars. Our personal and collective edges are the landscapes where we have the greatest potential for learning. Stay vigilant under this lunar aspect, and be open to however you are being called to bend, shift, or pivot. 

Remember that a Solar eclipse is a New Moon. Rebirth is in the cards, and healing karmic wounding is very much on the table. This is heartbreaking painstaking work. Above all else, be tender with yourself during this eclipse threshold, while so much is being burned away and transforming. Rather than getting tangled up in eclipse anxieties, it is better to ask your body what it needs in order to feel safe and well nourished so that you can prioritize building resilience for the continuing revolution. Remember that eclipses once foretold the overthrowing of authority. When we the people are in solidarity, we have nothing to fear from eclipses except for their ability to rebalance systems of power. 

This eclipse forms a square with the dwarf planet Ceres, who is symbolized by the Greek mother goddess Demeter, ruler of fertility and agriculture. This dynamic offers insight into the type of healing we may be able to access at this time. Ceres represents our relationship with food, nourishment, digestion, and eating. Perhaps highlighted through this aspect will be our own relationship to nourishment, and how we can bring greater healing into our lives through tending the land, or becoming conscious of our food systems. Perhaps we may be able to release any shame regarding our bodies or what we consume. Digestion affects our energy body, and it also affects our emotional well being. What trauma, anger, or memory is still waiting to be digested so that you might move forward on your path?
